All About Timing

Updated: Aug 14, 2018

Once everyone has arrived and has settled in let breakfast begin. The day shouldn't be rushed in my opinion, enjoy the little moments with life long friends all together on your big day. Once your Bridal and hair team have arrived, have your stylist start on the bridesmaids first, while the makeup artist begins with a bridesmaid, then maid of honor.

• Have your photographer arrive one hour before everyone is ready to go. That way, he or she will be able to capture getting-ready shots, applying lipstick to the bride, putting her vial on, and the bride getting into her wedding dress! This also gives your photographer plenty of time to capture little details: your gown, shoes, jewelry, purse, etc.

• If you have yourself plus four bridesmaids all getting your hair and makeup done, give yourself at least four hours of getting-ready time. That may seem like a lot, but it's just enough.

• If you have a big bridal party have your artist bring another makeup artist along. Do the same for hair stylist.

  • keep these guidelines in mind:

  • Makeup: 30–45 minutes per bridesmaid and mother of bride, 60–90 minutes for the bride.
